Join us for an evening with local award-winning author Kate Sawyer on the eve of the release of her third novel Getting Away & to celebrate the launch of the dazzling programme of live events coming this October 9-12th for Bury St Edmunds Literature Festival 2025.
All proceeds from this special event will go towards our Bury St Edmunds Literature Festival 2025 programme of free live events for children & schools and help us to keep tickets discounted for those in financial need.

Kate will be in conversation about the inspiration behind her new novel - which reviewers are calling 'the holiday read of a lifetime' and will give an exclusive reading before answering audience questions on her Costa Shortlisted debut The Stranding and the best-selling Waterstones Book of The Month This Family. Then, to round off the evening Kate will step into her role as festival programme curator, sharing the live literary events, workshops and walks that will be taking place in Bury St Edmunds this 9-12th October to celebrate books and the joy of reading and writing at any age.

For everyone else, we will be offering our biggest and boldest programme of live events and workshops yet. Our non-fiction events will cover pressing global topics and local interest and we will celebrate the joy of fiction by bringing feted authors to the heart of East Anglia, whilst also highlighting emerging and local authors in the hope everyone will discover a new favourite.
